Asian Glazed Turkey Meatballs
Servings: 6 | Prep & Cook: 40 minutes
Ingredients — Meatballs
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- ⅔ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced
Ingredients — Glaze
- 1 cup soy sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp crushed red chili flakes
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, panko, egg, soy sauce, ginger, minced garlic, and green onions. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
- Roll mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs (about golf ball size). You should get approximately 20-24 meatballs.
- Heat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place meatballs on the sheet, spaced slightly apart. Bake for 15-18 minutes until cooked through (165°F internal).
- While meatballs bake, combine soy sauce, beef broth, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, black pepper, and chili flakes in a large skillet.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Whisk in cornstarch.
- Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens to a glaze consistency (about 2-3 minutes).
- When meatballs are done, add them to the skillet and gently toss to coat evenly.
- Serve hot over rice, garnished with additional sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
