Details
Why This Method?
No sautéing, no separate sauce pan, no blender. The pasta starch naturally thickens the cream.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups chicken broth
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 tsp dried minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 lb dry linguine noodles, broken in half
- 3/4 to 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly shredded
- Optional: 1.5 lbs diced chicken breast (raw)
Directions
- Add broth, cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and noodles to Instant Pot in that order. DO NOT STIR.
- Nestle raw chicken into noodles if using.
- High pressure 6 minutes.
- Natural release 6 minutes, then quick release.
- Let sit 1-2 minutes (critical — cheese won't melt if too hot).
- Gradually stir in Parmesan until thickened.
- Serve immediately.
Tips
- Use fresh grated Parmesan, never powdered
- Doubles perfectly — same cook time
- Leftovers: reheat with a splash of milk
